1. Data Controller

Project Quintessence is an international, decentralized research collaboration. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the primary data processing lead is based in Poland. You can contact us regarding your data at any time via our contact page.

2. Data We Process

We only collect data that you voluntarily provide to us when submitting an inquiry via our contact form. This includes:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your organization (if provided)
• Subject and message content of your inquiry

Additionally, our hosting provider may automatically log standard connection details (such as IP addresses and browser headers) for security and service performance.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis

We process your contact details solely to evaluate, route, and respond to your collaboration and research requests. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in responding to communication initiated by you.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. To deliver messages securely, we use Resend, Inc. as our email delivery processor. Resend processes your email and message data only under our instructions to route the inquiry to our team.

5. Cookies and Tracking

This website is built to be tracking-free. We do not use Google Analytics, marketing cookies, or tracking pixels. No non-essential cookies are placed on your device.

6. Data Retention

We store your messages only as long as necessary to address your inquiry or maintain active research/academic collaboration. If we do not enter into a formal collaboration, your contact data is periodically pruned from our records.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the following rights under GDPR:

• Right to access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure: Request that we delete your contact history.
• Right to restrict or object: Object to our processing of your message.

To exercise any of these rights, please submit a request through our contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
